After amassing a huge online following, the viral sensation CRABMAN is hosting a LIVE in-person grand finale for all to witness the climax of his life changing series. A non-sexual occasion.  

CRABMAN (18+) is a highly interactive clown musical about social media and self exploitation. Recording is encouraged. When you enter, you take on a username and become part of an immersive experience.

CRABMAN is sort of like if you mixed David Bowie with the Grinch and Zoolander.

Melo Acevedo (CRABMAN) is a Clown and Musical Improviser known for his live interviews and comedic performances with Games Done Quick (GDQ). He studied Le Jeu and Clown at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France, and trained with teachers from around the world. His original shows include The Heart of Circinus (Denver Fringe 2025) and CRABMAN (Crowd Work Award, Freaky Weeky). He teaches clown and improv at Chaos Bloom Theater, and performs as a member of the comedy teams An Improvised Musical on Broadway and Diet Milk.

    • What a profound handling of an absurd premise! The idea on its own is provocative enough to attract a curious audience, but it is the heart and soul that Melo brings to CRABMAN that make the whole show feel relatable to everyone in the room. The staging was also a huge plus--getting the "see" the final act of crab manipulation in a safe but hilarious way really added to the experience.

    The show began for me in the lobby when I was prompted to put on a name tag with my internet user handle. At that point, I was logged onto Crabman's chat. The absurdity of his crab shoving claim to fame is matched by his need to be liked and cost of that affirmation. At the same time, Crabman is endearing, charming, and totally himself. Melo conducts these facets of Crabman with playful give and take with the audience, and the whole show is laced up in Crabman's distinct aesthetic. Punctuated with utter vulnerability, this show marches to the beat of its own joyful Crabman drum. A must-see!

    So much fun! Excellent from top to bottom. The music and singing were top tier,even though it was NOT a musical! One of Denver’s most dedicated and talented!

    Crabman was funny, sweet, vulnerable, and entertaining, just like Melo. There was lots of his heart in this show and I loved every bit of it!

    CRABMAN promises one thing and one thing only: a crab will be put in a place where crabs were never meant to be. Ravenous expectation precedes it; ravenous applause accompanies it. But the most profound bit is not the Stuffening itself, as it's been dubbed, but the fractured moments after.
    What do we have left after the jubilant whoops and bloodthirsty roars die down? A man stands alone in excruciating self-inflicted pain before an audience that encouraged this spectacle to its horrifying yet natural result. Some may accept it, some may deny it, but by the end, CRABMAN makes perverts of us all.

    Very enjoyable fusion of improv, puppetry, and clown. Can't wait to see day 2000. I want Jeremy's crab hat.
