Homecoming Despair

When playing The Oregon Trail, first released on the Apple II in 1985, the text "you have died of dysentery" never appears onscreen (despite what we may remember from the childhood computer lab).

disInc. presents: Homecoming Despair (You have died of dysentery.) is an homage to (and exorcism of) the rot of nostalgia, a PowerPoint presentation, and a prelude to an upcoming album release from disInc., a musical sole proprietorship devoted to thermodynamics and human leakage.

Through sinusoidal oscillations between song and storytelling, we will recall small-town murder, the Chernobyl disaster, the divorce, the marriage that preceded the divorce, blink-182, dial-up modems, SSRIs, and dead malls (and we will sing with synthesizers while doing so); there may be opportunities to "join the band" in the end, so to speak (as they say [for real {there is a band}!]).

Amazing music !!!
I loved this show so much. The storytelling through song and spoken word is amazing. Going on a nostalgic journey of heartbreak, while coming back to the center idea that music is a conduit of connection, joy, and hope. You’re laughing, you’re tearing up a bit, you’re immersed in music.. it has everything. It was so well done. If you missed it, definitely catch this performance if it’s out there in the wild again.
