Tasavu: Non Sacred Clown

A Tasavu is non-sacred clown carving made by the Hopi, lambasting their Navajo neighbors. Confronted by the truth in the satire, Navajo comedian Joshua Emerson puts on a clown/stand up show addressing mental illness and the women he loves who suffer from it. Can he grow into the man they need? This version of the show is the direct work that Joshua completed at the Banff Centre as a part of their Indigenous Storytelling Residency.
