The Bluebird

Take flight with The Bluebird, a wordless journey of dreams and dreamers. The production is inspired by Charles Bukowski's evocative poem The Bluebird, Buba Basishvili's own immigration story, and the experiences of innumerable migrants who have left their homes for other lands. Weaving pantomime and physical comedy, the show transcends linguistic barriers to deliver a poignant narrative of the immigrant experience. The Bluebird features original music by the avant-garde duo Homospouses (Lika Shubitidze and Archil Gegechkori). Buba Basishvili, the co-founder of Theatre Artibus, is a theater maker from the Republic of Georgia. Buba was a lead performer with the Georgian State Pantomime Theater for over 15 years before immigrating to the United States. He has toured, taught, and performed all over the world.
