Undertow

A community's fears are stoked into paranoia by a mysterious force, who uses the town to summon itself into their reality. But is it the residents of the fictional seaside town — or the audience — who is doing the summoning?

Undertow is an improvised theater production, featuring original music by Jared Allen Lacy, that uses thematic elements of the Weird and the Eerie (Lynch, Vandermeer, Eggers, Danielewski, etc.) to explore the psychodynamics of residents of a small coastal town living under an authoritarian regime, and the mutual reinforcement between community atomization and oppression.

Such a unique idea. Granted I don’t get out as often as I would like, but I hope this rekindles my theater going more often.

I hope this show gets a chance for a longer run.
I was mesmerized by the music and watching the actors improvise the story in real time. Fascinating form of theater. Go experience it!
