Our Impact
The 2021 Denver Fringe Festival was the first live-and-in-person Fringe festival in Denver after our 2020 virtual launch and it exceeded our goals in artist, audience and community engagement:
- We presented 22 different shows and 65 individual performances at four (4) venues in the RiNo/Five Points area
- 150+ artists/performers/directors/technicians participated in the festival
- All participating artists received a payout of 70 percent of their net ticket sales
- Fifty percent of performers were local to Denver and/or Colorado
- Fifty percent of performers came from out-of-state including NY, IL, CA and GA
- The festival included original theatre and musicals, devised performance, solo performance, physical theatre, children’s theatre, magic and mentalism, aerial and circus arts, immersive theatrical experiences
- We presented an additional 16 on-demand and live-streaming
- We sold over 1,700 tickets
- Kids participated in six free workshops at our weekend-long KidsFringe including clowning, improv, movement, playwriting and hula hooping
- Families enjoyed an original kids musicals in both English and Spanish at our KidsFringe
- Our KidsFringe included two free story hours with the Tattered Cover as well as aerial performances by two local circus companies
- Tickets were priced at $15
- People of all ages and backgrounds took part in the Denver Fringe Festival
